Doctors

Physician Assistant

You may be booked in to see Mr Rohani when you have a medical problem. All patients booked with Mr Rohani are appropriately triaged before seeing him. Mr Rohani is medically trained to examine, take history and deliver appropriate treatment.

Mr Rohani works very closely and is supervised by a GP. He cannot prescribe medication but can suggest and get this signed off by a GP alongside referring for appropriate imaging or to secondary care departments.

Mr Rohani upholds Bridge Street Surgery’s commitment to meeting patient needs and is a valued member of the healthcare team.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma, COPD or diabetes and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, new patient checks and can administer some injections. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Practice Management

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Administration Team

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. Receptionists issue repeat medication and The Dispensary Team make up the medication, along with acute items prescribed by the GPs. Our Secretarial and Admin Team make patient referrals, deal with incoming and outgoing medical records and act as a link between Bridge Street Surgery and Secondary Care Facilities.

Medical Students

Bridge Street Surgery are a Teaching Practice. We have students from both Hull & York Medical School and Lincoln Medical School. We have students studying in their third, fourth and fifth year at Medical School as well as Physician Assistant Students.

All of our clinics which have Students observing or training within them will be advised to you before booking. If you do not wish Students to be present within your consultation please book within another clinic rather than ask our Students to step out of the consultation. Our Students have limited time within clinics and we would like to maximise the little time they do get to learn – after all they will be sat in the chair themselves one day.
